Marketiger Using PostProcess Technologies Solutions for Full-Color Mimaki 3D Printed Parts

Dutch 3D printing service Marketiger is different than most, as it doesn’t simply focus on mass production or small-scale printing, but instead offers both. Obviously it starts at the beginning with pre-processing services, to make sure that all designed concepts can be translated into full-color 3D models. But then it goes to the next level, using the photorealistic Mimaki 3DUJ-553 full-color 3D printer to make designs pop with a complete color spectrum that can incorporate over 10 million shades into a print. Combine this color capability with high levels of detail and excellent technical and creative knowledge, and you’ve got a winning combination.

However, the final step of the additive workflow can still get held up by bottlenecks if a good post-print support removal solution is not implemented, and this is especially true for the intricate Mimaki 3D printed parts that Maketiger is fabricating. Marketiger was seeing negative effects, such as pronounced layer lines, on their 3D printed parts when using a conventional system, and needed a post-processing solution that was more sensitive to design needs in order to continue offering high-quality products at its normal caliber.

So the company turned to a full stack solution to advance its full-color 3D printed parts, courtesy of PostProcess Technologies . The New York-based company is the only provider of automated, intelligent post-processing solutions for 3D printed parts.

“One of my customers told me to contact AM Solutions to do some polishing tests,” said Marketiger’s Director Maikel de Wit. “From there, I contacted Bert van den Boogaard from AM Solutions.”

AM Solutions , a brand of the Rösler Group, is made up of separate 3D post-processing and 3D printing services, and represents PostProcess products in the Benelux region.

“The knowledge and expertise of both AM Solutions and PostProcess regarding cleaning 3D printed parts is enormous. We were, therefore, able to learn a lot from each other during the entire process and evaluation,” de Wit stated.

PostProcess uses its patent-pending chemistry, software, and hardware technology to get rid of potential post-print bottlenecks by automating the common industrial processes and revolutionizing support removal. Marketiger’s finely detailed Mimaki prints are in good hands with the company’s automated Support Removal solution, which uses Submersed Vortex Cavitation (SVC) technology in its FORTI system. Each part is evenly exposed for agitation thanks to rotational motion, and integrated software intelligence allows users, such as Marketiger, to have exacting control over the support removal parameters. In addition, the mid-size FORTI’s additive-formulated detergents allows users to achieve consistent and repeatable outcomes without any warping or damage by using them in specific time allotments and temperatures that the software controls.
